Driving lessons are one of the most popular choices for 18th birthday presents. If you haven’t already started learning to drive at age 17, you should consider asking parents and relatives to club together to help pay for your driving lessons. Many driving schools offer vouchers and discounts for block bookings and if everyone agrees you could even get your driving test paid for too. Learning to drive can cost in excess of £1000 these days and this cost is out of reach to most teenagers. Another option to raise the funds for driving lessons is to get a part time job (if you’re still studying) or to assign part of your weekly wage for driving lessons if you’re in full time employment. But bear in mind that just one lesson per week will still cost you around £20 so you may still need some help to cover the costs. It’s possible to get discounts on driving lessons if you make a block booking, usually a minimum of ten lessons, the more lessons that you book the cheaper they will be.
